Why do we collect your personal information

We may collect your personal information when required by law but generally we collect personal information such as name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone number and email id.

Personal information may be required for processing your orders, new products, services, discounts, promotions, upcoming events, and credit reference checking or fraud detection.  Use of your personal informationfor better communication with you to serve your needs better and make your experience at our website more enjoyable.

  4. Account related information such as your username, password, account history, billing information and communication, transactional and payment, payment history and shipment related information.
  5. Other content and data that you provide while using the Site, for example- blogs, discussion boards, chat messages, membership of mailing lists and other data, documents and images stored on our servers.

In addition, from time to time, we may ask you for additional information.

Information Collected Automatically:

Log Data may include information such as:

  1. The numeric IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the web) from which you access the Site.

When do we disclose your personal information

MivaArts members: When you register in the site and create an account, your personal information (including, but not limited to, your name) will be publicly viewable via the site. We recommend that you guard your sensitive information and we encourage you to think carefully about what information you post via the site. If you choose to purchase original works of art via the site and services, we will share your name and postal address with the member who listed the work for sale on the site to enable that member to ship the purchased work directly to you.

MivaArts forums: If you choose to participate in the MivaArts forums via the site, the content of any comments or information you post in such forums will be publicly available via the site, together with your profile picture, your name, and a link to your profile on the site. Participating in the MivaArts forums is voluntary and should correlate with the degree of interaction you want to have with other MivaArts users.

Facebook connect: Our site allows users to create an account and login to the site using their facebook account credentials through facebook connect. Creating an account for the first time through facebook connects will prompt users to merge their MivaArts and facebook accounts. By using facebook connect, you are allowing MivaArts to access your facebook account information and you are agreeing to the facebook terms of use in your use of the site via facebook. If you are not currently registered as a MivaArts member and you click on "sign in using facebook," you will first be asked to enter your facebook credentials and then be given the option to register and join MivaArts. We allow members to automatically post recent activity back to facebook, and give them the option to disable facebook connect at any time by accessing your facebook account and disconnecting access to the site.

Aggregate information and non-identifying information: We may share aggregated information that does not include personal information and we may otherwise disclose non-identifying information and log data with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purposes. Any aggregated information shared in these contexts will not contain your personal information.

Service providers: We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our services, to provide our services on our behalf, to perform site-related services (e.g., without limitation, payment processing, billing and shipping services, maintenance services, database management, web analytics and improvement of the site's features) or to assist us in analyzing how our site and services are used. Business transfers: MivaArts may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your personal information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.

 

Updating/Deleting information

If your personal information is incorrect or you wish us to delete it, contact us at   help@mivaarts.com to update or delete it.

If you completely delete all such information, your account may be deactivated. We may retain an archived copy of your records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes..

 

How we protect your personal information

The security of your personal information is important to MivaArts. We take the integrity of the information and systems that we maintain very seriously. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.  Your personal information may be stored by us in various forms including both electronic and hardcopy. Your account information is password-protected for your privacy and security. In certain areas, as with credit card transactions, our Site uses Industry-Standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect data transmissions.

Any information that you provide when you use certain services on the Site and where such information is in an open public environment or forum including without limitation blogs, community or discussion board do not constitute personal information and as such is not subject to protection under this privacy policy. You should accordingly be careful when deciding to share any of your personal information in such public forums and any disclosure of information in such forums on the Site shall be at your own risk.

 

Kids' safety and privacy

This Site is not directed to kids under 18. We do not deliberately collect personally identifiable information from kids under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal information without their consent, he or she should contact us at help@mivaarts.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our files.

 

Making purchases and listing works via the site

If you purchase a work or other item or list a work for sale via the site, we request certain personal information from you. You must provide contact information such as first and last name, address, city, email and phone number and financial information such as credit card type, credit card number, expiration date and CVV2. We use this information for billing and remittance purposes, to list works for sale on the site and to fulfil your orders, as applicable. If we have trouble processing an order or listing a work for sale, we will use this information to contact you. If you list a work for sale via the site, we require you to provide a copy of a government issued photo identification. When you place an order or list a work for sale via the site, MivaArts will also send you informational emails regarding such orders and sales.

 

Cookies

A cookie is a small data file that resides on your hard drive for record-keeping purposes, for example, to collect information about your activities on the site or to make it possible for you to use an online "shopping cart" to keep track of items you wish to purchase. We need to use cookies on the Site to enhance the user experience and avoid multiple logins or password authentication requests. We use cookies for two purposes. First, we utilize persistent cookies to save your login information for future logins to the Site. Second, we utilize session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Site, to better understand how you interact with the Site and to monitor aggregate usage by MivaArts Users and web traffic routing on the Site.
